Kicking bags hurts...
Went to conditioning class last night. A dangerous idea after being at MMA on Monday because the guy who takes the conditioning class is a demon, works the cardio hard and pushes you every step.

Slightly different this week though. Normally it's about 30 minutes of punishing drills, dragon steps, sumo walk, sit ups, press ups, jogging etc. This time we only did that for about 10 minutes and moved on to kicks.

Striking!

Started the striking section on Monday nights this week. The beginner’s class runs on Mondays and Saturdays, and is at a different stage on each day. Means that people can get to one or the other, or they can go to both and keep their skills up in each area.

I have never done any boxing or kickboxing etc so this was all new to me. The coach was excellent though, kept an eye on myself and the other guy who had no experience and gave us plenty of advice and tips.

MMA training so far…
The beginner’s MMA class is a 18 week course. 6 weeks of striking, 6 weeks of grappling/takedowns and 6 weeks of ground work/submissions.

This is all backdated of course so I can’t remember each week exactly. So far we have covered;

Well this is my first blog. Funnily enough I always swore I wouldn’t have a blog because they were the latest “in thing” but here I am writing one to detail my ongoing training and weight loss targets.
