Blackberry newbie, need help set up email

I just got me first blackberry, a bold 9700. I got it connected to my homehub ok, although in the blackberry home webpage when I try download app world it says sorry your device does not meet the requirements that are needed to support blackberry app world. Any help with this would be appreciated. Im with vodafone btw, do I need ring them up, it is blocked in some way? Also in email wizard it only gives me the option to put in a work email. The question in email setup is:- I want to use a work email account with a blackberry enterprise server, no other options here. when i click in on that its asking me for a activation password. I only need to add 2 ordinary email accounts to this and I cant see the option to do this, but I know this can be done. Help needed!!

You need the £5pm Blackberry Internet Service which if you ask Vodafone about they should be able to sort you out, really simple once you've agreed to the service and it's all set up for you via a couple of SMS messages. I'm on PAYG with mine so the £5 is just deducted from my credit each month.

Once you have BIS you should find it really simple adding your email addresses etc. I added both a Gmail and an Orange email with no bother at all and I'm easily confused usually

Oh, and with the BIS you'll not only get push email, but also inclusive web access/ browsing and access to the blackberry services such as app store, mesenger etc.

Not so sure about Tetlee's answer as he's referring to BIS.
For use with an enterprise server you normally use BES and IT guys at work set you up on their enterprise server and give you a password which you have have to enter on the Blackberry when you go through the activation routine; the only info I had to enter manually on my 9700 was my email address + the password that our IT folks gave me.
There's lots of info on BES on the web and should be some on the website of whichever service provider you're using.

Hi, I managed to get the blackberry service ordered, it came live at 12am and I was using windows live messenger and the app store etc but I updated the phone using the desktop software and now in manage connections and service status under blackberry internet service is says not connected. It was connected there before so the update I did must have wiped that somehow. What should I do now? ring vodafone again in the morning or is there something I can do to push these settings to my phone.

Sounds like you need to phone Vodafone and choose the option that gets you to their techie team.
However, I am still confused as to how you can use your company's Enterprise server with BIS; in any case, using an enterprise server requires some setup from your company's end too for emails to work.
