1) Stick all your contacts on your sim then copy it to the phone memory. Takes 1 minute.
2) EVERYTHING is highly customizable on the blackberry. I was impressed, ive been using ther 9700 and it hasn't let me down. Can't fault it except for the headphones not ringing when their plugged in. It's an issue with the 9700's software... hopefully an update coming soon. Otherwise yeh.. you can set ringtones and vibrations for everything, an MSN alert, a MSN new message, a BBPin new message or new conversation, and each profile has its own settings.. its brilliantly tedius.
3) I keep my phone clutter-free so I have a few GOOD apps, nothing rubbish.
1) Don't get the facebook app, its a pain in the ass to remove, the mobile version is better/faster imo.
2) Download POYNT - its good for finding restaurants in london, or businesses, movies, and shops.
3) Download ORANGE MAPS for free (comes with sat nav for drivign and walking) if you're on orange and on a £30 tariff.
4) TubeBuddy - good for checkign the status of Underground tube lines and trains.. pretty detailed.
5) TIME the magazine - good for reading on the tube as it preloads a lot of content!
6) Bloomberg Mobile - great information and news, charts and analysis.
7) Engadget Mobile - great little gadget for the Blackberry, runs very nicely and presentation is cool..
Of course this list is tailored to me, but I think these apps are great for anyone and everyone. There's plenty others to choose some, many aren't worth the hassel and a handful don't work either. Get playing,, and dont forget to install Blackberry Desktop manager and backup / update your phone as you go!
