Swapping Address book data from 8320 to 9700

Quick question for you guys in the know – I’m just about to upgrade my 8320 to a 9700 – my brother wants to buy the 8320 and is getting impatient so being the nice brother I am I’ve backed up the 8320 and am going to use my old Pearl until the 9700 lands.
I have a problem in that I’ve tried to restore the Pearl with the 8320 data but it will not update the Pearl’s address book , the Pearl just retains its old address book entries. There must be a away of dealing with this and I’m certainly not doing a wipe on the 8320 until I’ve sorted the address book issue . Can anyone help please – bearing in mind I’ll also need to update the 9700 with the 8320s current address book from the pearl . I’ve probably missed something glaringly obvious but be gentle !

Perhaps the 8320 isn't backwarrds compatible with the pearl data? very strange though.. blackberry's are normally inter-compatible with one another regardless of the phone. I'd keep your bro on hold in the mean time, just in case. Perhaps give him the pearl to play with for the time being!
