Have Blackberry 8310 - Worth upgrading?

Gents,

Been pondering seriously about the upgrade that I am due from O2. Basically I have an 8310 and I'd like it to be a bit faster and to better display the internet but on the basis that I can text, make calls, e-mail, check basic internet stuff, take reasonable pictures/films, etc, I'm sort of ok with it.

One advantage would be wifi, but to be honest that aint a show stopper for me and of course the new blackberry's look better and has a better looking on screen interface, but really, what would I gain?

I have looked at an iphone upgrade but the providers are asking silly money for these even on 24 month contracts, whereas with the blackberry's they seem to be giving them away, but if I sign a new contract I may likely lose the heavily discounted tariff I am on. Just want to know if it is really worth it having an updated Blackberry?

What do the newer Blackberry's bring to the table? Help and advice please!

From one geezer to another ...

The newer Blackberry's are 3G enabled for faster browsing. I don't like the touch screen Blackberry Storm (or any touch screen moby period!) and would sacrifice a smaller screen for a proper keyboard but that's personal preference.

Also, the standard new interface on the Blackberry Bold that shows the 5 icons at the bottom isn't my cup of tea either but you can change the theme easily enough. The camera's on the newer models are better too and some people seem to love the new trackpad thing instead of the traditional rollerball (I prefer the rollerball).

Other than that, the same bulletproof BB stuff you have in the 8310 is all there in the newer models.

So no real reason for an upgrade to another BB to be honest? Think I'll save my hard earned for the new camera lens I'm looking at.
