Accidental PIN lock?

Hi,

A friend of mine has had an absolute nightmare with his Blackberry. His 14 yr old son has activated a PIN lock on his phone and now he cannot access it, as when he switches it on it just asks for a PIN code. 14 yr old son just shrugs and says "I dunno, can't remember what I set!"

Is there any way to bypass the PIN, or if the worst comes to the worst, reset everything?

Thanks

What model number of Blackberry ?
From the manual for my 8700g :
"If you type your device password incorrectly ten times,
all information is erased from your device for security
reasons."

I know it is possible, I have removed a few passwords in the past however they were all connected to a BES.

However a quick google search bought this up, How to Disable/Remove Password on BlackBerry Cell Phones - Powered By Kayako SupportSuite

It seems possible.
