The Blackberry Storm 2

The Storm 2 is due out any day now - Vodafone are accepting orders with a shipping date of October 26th. Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about this device?

This review at crackberry.com gives the impression that it's basically the same as the first Storm only with most of the bugs worked out - which is not necessarily a bad thing.

Re: The Blackberry Storm 2

I'm quite tempted to get this as my interest on the HTC HD2 is wearing off due to lack of info from O2 regarding it's release.
However, what concerns me is the lack of multimedia functions which imo is essential on all smartphones with today's technology.

Re: The Blackberry Storm 2

OK, I went ahead and preordered the Storm 2 on a £35mth/2yrs contract with Vodafone.
2 yrs contract is the longest I ever taken out, but gives me a very good excuse not to get another phone for that lenght of time. When it comes to new gadgets like phones, I'm a sucker to em

Decided against holding out for the ( long deep breath) HTC HD2 for one major reason....Windows Mobile 6.5

Then again, in 2yrs time when my new contract finishes, there will be a better Blackberry/HTC out then, compared with the one's due out this year.

In other words, we can't keep up with technology as it grows at a faster pace than we do ( I'm glad in a way)

Re: The Blackberry Storm 2

I'm in the market for an upgrade to a BB and have been looking at the Storm 2 as an option. So far mixed reviews, obviously its better than the original but it appears it still has some nasty bugs in there which has cost it points in the 'i want one' catagory.

For me its back to the drawing board, maybe wait for the HTC HD2, i have a few months to decide so back to Google reviews

Re: The Blackberry Storm 2

I just spoke to a friend who is high up on the food chain of 02 and they will not be stocking the Storm 2 due to negotiations failing..

I get a 35% discount from my friend so can't in reality switch to Voda, but the Storm 2 is a pretty decent phone.

just saw a phone review in youtube for the Storm2 is it true that the screen feels flimsy when pressed down on it when tapping it?

Re: The Blackberry Storm 2

When you press the screen it feels like the whole facia 'clicks' - it doesn't feel flimsy, i bet you would get used to it in no time.

Edit: Just found out its meant to be coming to 02 within 2 weeks ? Hope its true

Re: The Blackberry Storm 2

Hi

Storm2 is a great handset. It in no way does the screen feels flimsy when you type, if fact one of things I like about it is the click that it gives when you press it.

It feels well built and is everything that the storm should of been.

Unfortunately I have a Vodafone contract which I took out and got my HTC Magic. That sim is now in an iPhone 3GS. I also have a T-Mobile contract that I took out when I got my BB8900 that sim is in an HTC Hero. I also have an o2 contract just about to end.

I could wait until my O2 contract ends and then port that number to VF for a new Storm2 . However i guess I would be better just to go to ebay and look for a storm. That way I can reduce my monthly spend.
