Re: Blackberry on T Mobile PAYG

Id the Blackberry you have won unlocked? Or is it locked to the same network as you are on for PAYG?

In basic terms you just need to insert your PAYG SIM into the BB and make sure you have the relevant data settings, which can be found on your network operators website.

But you do need to ensure the Blackberry is unlocked for use on your network.

Re: Blackberry on T Mobile PAYG

If it's unlocked you can use any SIM. WiFi is not dependent on the SIM, so no worries there either.

TMobile have data plans and add-ons you can purchase if you think you'll use a lot of data. Or you can just pay as you go for data. It's not as cheap, but can work out cheaper if you will only use it occasionally as there is no fixed cost per month.

The full prices should be on the TMobile website.

A bit concerned about the amount of posts regards the "Bold" reliability

Re: Blackberry on T Mobile PAYG

Whilst the Bold isn't the pinnacle of technical reliability, don't forget that people generally come onto forums to discuss problems so reading forum posts will give a negative slant.

Re: Blackberry on T Mobile PAYG

I think they mean they wont help you find the settings you need and wont offer phone support. The data will work I'm sure.

Look here: T-Mobile - Help & Support

And here: Set up email - Mobile Email - T-Mobile

And Google is also your friend here, as no doubt the settings will be around. You just have to invest the time looking for them, something you'll only have to do once so it's not the end of the world.

Re: Blackberry on T Mobile PAYG

Remember you wont be able to use the BIS and thus have any sort of push email.
You can although get it if you pursuade t-mobile to add BIS to your account, which is £5 per month for unlimited push email and web data.
Although having said that im not sure you can have this option on PAYG.
I think most people opt out if they buy one unlocked and just put mini opera on and use that for surfing etc.

Probably best to try somewhere like Crackberry for more indepth information.

Re: Blackberry on T Mobile PAYG

Have you thought of going back to Orange, but keeping your T-Mobile number?
I am sure you can do this now. I purchased an unlocked Storm and was able to use orange's BIS and paid £5 a month for this and unlimited access to the internet.

Shame on T-mobile if they are not allowing you to do this.

Particularly as T Mobile and Orange are supposed to be joining forces!

Re: Blackberry on T Mobile PAYG

I got the phone today and its as described and new.......

Phone probably to advanced for me but its easy to message and see. My sim worked although it took for ever to sort out the address book. these are not like a nokia and you need to get your hed around it.

So...I can phone/receive calls, send and receive texts.

so I guess it must be unlocked. My son set up the wifi but it dont wanna know....I get a message every time saying "unable to connect to the internet - please contact your service provider"

now will that be orange my home service or T mobile the phone service
