Blackberry maps

This is embedded into my 8900 curve , is it a free service ?? Is it any good for basic needs ?

i use the maps app when i need to find a store or something in a town i dont no and it works via your data plan so free...well it is for me...
i.e load maps go to find location then local search....kfc.....it will list all local outlets...works well to

Google Maps and Poynt combination wins hands down. You'll find whatever you need/ what in a fraction of the time it takes using just your embedded maps utility.

I agree Poynt is an amazing app and also tend to use it with google maps.

The only thing i found Blackberry maps good for is when i'm somewhere without signal and i can get my co-ordinates VIA GPS. Google maps doesn't seem to work at all without a data connection.

I doubt many people will be up a massive remote hill but if i ever had an accident i could use SOS calling with my co-ordinates.

//Like someone else said - it is free providing your data tariff is unlimited.
