My bb messenger as packed up. When i click on the icon it comes up with this:

"Uncaught exception:java.lang.NullpointerException"

Hs anyone ever had this problem. It wont open the app. Could anyone tell me quickly how to delete this and re-install it? Or if that will even work?

Is it a case of downloading the desktop manager? Will it be on the list of apps?

Im lost without this messenger so any help would be appreciated.

Easiest thing to do is to wipe the device using JL_Cmdr and run Blackberry update. Note this will wipe your messages and your contacts so you might want to do a backup using Blackberry Desktop to at least grab your contacts database.

Do a google search for JL_Cmdr. It's a low level tool (read DOS) to wipe your phone.

Blackberry Desktop Manager comes with every Blackberry device. You can also download it from the Blackberry website. I would recommend downloading version 4.6 without the media manager.
