Unlocking internet access on Curve 8310

Hi,

I have just been issued with a new Blackberry at work. I thought it was great and quickly downloaded a couple of apps - Facebook, Twitter, etc - and enjoyed using them until I had to ring our IS department so that my could activate my Blackberry.

Anyway, I am now able to access my Outlook account on the move, which is fantastic, but I can't do anything fun.

Does anyone know if there is a way around these restrictions?

Thanks

Might be that your provider hasn't added browser etc to your account. I would ask whoever is the BB contact at your work to call the provider to activate this.

This is my first thought actually. I'd expect it to be restricted by your company to prevent staff running up high data usage bills and to generally stop non-business use of a business tool.

Sucks for you, but this is exactly what I would do.

Yes, that's exactly what has happened. I'm looking for a way round it? Is there a way to hack it somehow? Probably not, by fingers crossed

Re: Unlocking internet access on Curve 8310

I'm sure somebody, somewhere has found a way around it, but given that this is a company provided work tool, I'd highly recommend you don't try it. No doubt you'll have IT and Mobile policies that you will have agreed to by signing your contract, so you'd instantly be in breach of these.

In any case... AVForums isn't the place to be discussing any form of hacking of breaching security
