I think they are all ok, except Scrap metal which i think is a bit of a nightmare seeing people through the dark metal areas.... all the others are about as good as each other but opted for the fortress one as i think maybe edges it... if i'm thinking of the right one!

I think the car park is the Operation 125 or whatever, the fortress one has the underground section accessed via the central courtyard and the spiral staircases around one of the flags, and the tower one is like a posh apartment type set up..... if that makes sense.

Think your right

I do like the amount of flank routes, seems Dice have leant something from Metro and Bazar

So far I'll go for Donya, although in the games I played earlier defending the C flag was a nightmare, you can be shot from all angles from up top and then there are three ways in from the ground level as well. Even a full squad of four will struggle to defend that for long. Best thing to do is cap it and stroll on!

We haven't really seen any 'pinch points' as such but there are a few areas where it all seems to happen. 2 off the top of my head are the area with a balcony all the way round on the fortress map and Terrys & Daz's cafe.......dohnuts and battern burgs anyone ???

The fortress one is the C flag I was on about. It's a swine to defend, although if you run around up top you can get some tags 'cause the enemy is usually looking down

Donya Fortress is favourite for me so far, with scrap metal second (because it reminds me of an old half life map).

The dim light and machinery in the way are what make Scrap Metal a great map for me. Adds atmosphere and tension.

It's like the warehouse sequence in Predator 2. You're scanning around looking up down left right for the enemy.

On the whole would you say these maps are worth getting, i am a big fan of CQ on metro, it's all i ever play on BF3 as the sever sizes on all the other maps are stupid, especially when three quarters of the team are in vehicles and you've got 2 or 3 players being silly beggars in the spawn

I would, Kinetic. I was dead set against them, and have found myself liking them despite myself!

It's a very fast paced version of CQ though. Unlike in Metro where people will stay at B and defend it, holding off an advance from C, on these maps, people cap and flag and leg it to take another. By which time, the previous flag has gone. It becomes a bloody relay race!

Which is why I'm playing TDM on these maps a bit more. The flags have become a joke.

There's nothing in the game that says you have to run around like a headless chicken or keep running between flags. If you stick together as a squad and hold a flag, you will kill more chickens than Colonel Sanders.

This isn't COD, it still has squad play, it's just that everyone seems to throw their battlefield teamwork out of the window on these maps.

Same here, don't really like any of them. Hoping future maps are more aligned with traditional Battlefield maps.

Like I said, it's the players and not the game. People don't have to play it that way and would do better if they played it like it was meant to be played.

Written defamation is libel, not slander (which is verbal).

Jimster, I have formulated a tactical approach for CDM that rejects the headless chicken dash approach. Will discuss in chat party...

Will be interested to hear it.

I was thinking fairly simply along the lines of each squad on your team capturing/holding one flag. Holding 2 of 3 flags = win. No need to try and take the third one and no need to go on a flag merry go round.

It's an approach that should work in regular conquest too, but very few teams do it.

Ain't that the truth on Metro when ya playing with randoms
Played a round a few days ago, capped C, capped B, (had a good 100+ ticket lead by this point) then the entire lot decided to cap A leaving me to defend B all on my sweeny
Well...........you can guess the final result of that "fuk up"

I have to admit that I'm quite enjoying the new maps. Love Ziba Tower and Scrapmetal the most. Tend to play higher ticket games on it though as they are normally over pretty quick.

Capturing flags takes soooooo long when you go back to normal conquest after playing this for a while though!
