Just joined the AVF one and it accepted my email fine even though I am already registered with Quidco on it.

Unfortunately, the 'email address already in use' message is due to our partners already having it in the system. We have been told by Quidco that this would happen but most people have more than one email address so we didn't think it was a huge problem. If you use a different email address you will be fine.

okay thanks - so as above, what is available through AVF Rewards that is not already available through Quidco? i.e. why would I want to set up another account?

E.g. if I go to quidco now, I see that Best Buy 5% cashback is available though my regular account.

Not wanting to have a go, but my 'normal' Quidco gives me the same Dell deal, (15% off + 10% cashback) but on systems over £499 not £599

Is it just that this is new, so 'better' exclusives will come along?

If you refer to the Best Buy specific offer, Quidco offers 5% cashback and AVForums 5.5%

Not everyone is a Quidco member and we are aiming to try and bring you great deals without you having to go somewhere else to get them. AVForums Rewards is brand new and of course more and better deals will be posted as we go along.

Sure - an extra 0.5% for a four day window. I think this looks good for members that aren't already part of quidco, but for those that are it is not quite clear that it is worth going in with a second email address.

Yes you can be a member of both as long as you use a different email address.
On top of the existing offers we will keep posting exclusive offers to AVForums Rewards not available anywhere else.
Thanks for flagging the Dell offer. It looks like we have been issued with the wrong code and are trying to fix this. Hopefully we can keep an exclusive with Dell but either way you will get an exclusive offer.

Is it really that hard for anybody to go and create a gmail account such as "avf.username@gmail.com" ??? Then use it for this. Job done You can set up forwarding on gmail so anything will be sent to your main account. Alternatively, most ISPs offer multiple email accounts and most service subscribers don't use them all. Again, quite simple to arrange

Sure it can be done - but the question at the moment is, why? Hopefully that will become clear as the new feature grows.

It does sound like a good deal for non-quidco members and could be good with special offers although I assume they will take the yearly administration fee from both the quidco and avforums rewards accounts?

If people do have gmail accounts already registered with quidco you can signup with email like username+avf@gmail.com as you can add a plus sign and any other text and it will still go to your normal inbox. E.g. email is: bertracoon@gmail.com, you can also use bertracoon+avf@gmail.com.

Does AVForums Rewards have an annual fee, like Quidco usually does? If so, using two different email addresses will mean you're subject to two separate annual admin fees.

How much will it cost me?

Quidco retains the first £5 of your earnings each year (enabling us to employ a fantastic team to hunt out the best deals for you). We then pass 100% of the remaining cashback you earn back into your bank account (or PayPal account if you prefer)

E.g. you purchase a new 12 month SIM only contract through Quidco which offers £100 cashback. We will retain the first £5 before we credit your bank account with £95. For each subsequent purchase following the initial £5 retention, you will receive 100% of the cashback for the remainder of the year!

So, yes. It costs a squidge over nine and a half pence per week. I doubt AVF see any of that and it's a mere pittance for almost anybody. Quidco is genius and I pay my £5/yr gladly. Running simultaneous Quidco/AVF Reward accounts will set someone back almost 20p/week for the both of them but they only take the fiver per account if you actually use the account.

Yes sorry I mean a reason to pay them twice - given that quidco users are the type to switch browsers and clear caches in order to guarantee they get 20p back for buying a CD, they are not the types to let go of money lightly

I'm with imightbewrong at the moment and can't really see the point in signing up to this if you are already a quidco member, especially if you pay the admin fee twice...

It is a good idea though and will be interesting to see what the exclusive deals will be.

I noticed as part of the sign-up process that there is a requirement to provide your email address and it's optional to provide your Post Code!

Who exactly retains this information and I presume it is not passed onto any other marketing or promotional companies other than quidco as I wish not to be bombarded with spam and marketing rubbish from other third parties...
