Alphason AMBRI

My six month search for an AV rack is almost come to an end (I think!).

My equipment list is as follows: (TV is already wall mounted):

- Yamaha 3800 amp
- Media box (Kuro KRPA 500)
- PS3
- SKy HD
- Media server (tranquil T7)
- Squeezbox
..and Blu Ray player to come

The only product that comes close to fitting my requirments (also needs to be lockable or at least have a glass door) is the alphason ambri 1100. However, I have two questions:

1. Can I stack these units in top of each other (I will need two to fit everything)
2. Can anyone tell me if the amp ill fit inside (the amps measurements are H:171mm W: 435mm D: 439mm

If anyone can make a better suggestion, I am happy to listen!
Thanks.

Re: Alphason AMBRI

You can find the dimensions of the cabinet here:

Alphason ABR1/100-White - Alphason AMBRI Series - Alphason Stands - Stand and Deliver

Looks like it is not deep enough for your amp though at only 410mm

I too am looking for a stand and have found one that I think might do the job. See link below

Stand recommendations - lots of kit!

That is deep enough for your amp and might be big enough to get the rest of your kit in.

Edit: I realise it doesn't have doors however, so may not be suitable

Hi,
Just had one of these delivered in black, Very nice cabinet.
Just had a measure up for you and there isn't enough Depth for your amp.
430mm from the very back up to the door, and obviously you need room for cables etc.

Rick

Re: Alphason AMBRI

There is loads of information on this cabinet on the "opinion needed" thread lower down this page, there is also another thread if you search for it, dont know how to post links, but the cabinet is realy good quality, you will need to cut the back out to connect all the cables, best to cut out before assembly, also opening up the back will aid with heat dissipation. I have posted before about stacking these cabinets I dont think it will work, without a spacer, as the door swings down as it pivots and would bind on the "lower" door.
One poster on the other thread has suggested the hinges sheared on his but i can not see how this would happen as there is a stay to secure the door.
Have a look on the other threads and if you still have questions i will try to help, by the way i do not make or sell these just own one.

Hope this helps.

Re: Alphason AMBRI

I have two of these side by side that houses all my kit. see on page 2 here:Such's Lounge project (Thanks to Groove & Homerdog )

I have cut the back out of one to house my onkyo 805, but I have access behind as there are patio doors behind the wall, you can see if you go through the thread. Overall, good cabinets!
