Help with old la-z-boy recliner with heat & massage

I picked up a pair of old la-z-boy recliners with heat and massage built in. One worked and the other one didn't. I tried the power supply off the one that didn't work on the chair that worked. It didn't work proving that the power supply was faulty.

I then tried the power supply from the working chair on the non working one and after a few seconds there was a burning smell and the control pad became very hot. This has in turn knackered the working power supply.

I bought a new power supply that matched the specs of the original to at least get the functional chair up and running but it just flashes 'dc' on the controller pad. The new one is centre terminal positive but I don't know what the original was.

Anybody got any ideas?

Cheers,

EDIT I have just realised why 'dc' is flashing. The output needs to be AC. I think I will take a look at the control pad and other electrics on the faulty chair and if I can suss out what must be causing a short I will look for pair of adapaptors to save on postage. If I can't fix it I will just order one.

Graham
