Lockable TV unit please!

Hi guys,
Can you help please.............

Im after a LOCKABLE tv unit to stop my 11 mnth old son pulling everything out onto the floor, but I cant seem to find any?

Currently I have a 32" CRT sony tv, but am looking to buy a panasonic 42-46" plasma in the next 6 mnths.

Aswell as this, I also need to accomodate:

- an x-box
- a nintendo wii
- a sky+ box
- a dvd player

Any ideas guys? I really dont want to spend alot (if i can help it) because I have 3 young children and things seem to get damaged!

Oh, and most of the furnitue in my living room is oak, but I dont really mind whay material the unit is made of if it looks smart!

Sorry to go on!!!

Thanks for any help folks!

Re: Lockable TV unit please!

I got one from ikea a while back which did the trick, not the greatest of locks but enough to put off a young-un it was this one..... IKEA | TV solutions | TV solutions for tube TVs up to 25'' | LEKSVIK | TV bench

Its pretty big too so would easily take a 42" on a stand im sure mine sits on the wall next to it but im sure it would be plenty wide enough.

Re: Lockable TV unit please!

Hi there,

I had exactly the same problem as you Jumbo, i ended up wall mounting my tv to keep the little one away but needed a secure hideaway for the rest of the gear.
I can highly recommend the alphason 1100 that was mentioned as that is what i ended up purchasing after lots of looking around, it comes flat packed but is really solid once built, has toughened glass and my boy hasn`t managed to break into it yet!

Presumably he will work it out soon but because of the way the door opens and closes it will be very easy to fit some kind of retainer with a lock.

Good luck
