In need of a small black av floating cabinet

Hi,

i have recently bought an LG 37" LCD which i am going to mount on the wall with a cantilever bracket so that when not in use it can be pushed flat to the wall and then pulled out into the corner when using it. The problem is where to put the Sky+ box and DVD player

Im thinking that a small piano black unit just big enough to fit the two in would look good especially if it had the appearance of floating off the floor (ie just above the skirting and below the screen). All the cables are going to be buried into the wall so it should look pretty clean and tidy.
Trouble is i cant find a unit. Does anyone know of anyone who might manufacture such a thing. i guess the dimensions are going to be 400 wide 400 deep x 200 height.

A mate of mine built his own cabinet out of mdf, then filled the screw holes and joints, used lots of coats of primer and rubbing down before applying the top gloss with a compresser. So this is an option.

Thanks for any help

Good price, although there is a comapny that specialise in wall mounted LCD units, I would imagine they are a lot more secure.

For the life of me I cannot remember it though. sorry.

Hi

Rather than a seperate piece of furnture you could use our corner bracket;

M-Form Corner Bracket

This is specifically designed to hold the two small pieces of kit most people need, ie, a digibox and dvd player. This will give the look of the whole lot floating and the kit will swivel with your TV. This frees up the piece of floor otherwise taken up by the cabinet.

The only draw back for you is that you can't push it back to the wall flat when not in use. However in my experience, when people buy an articulated bracket with the intension of pushing it back flat it ends up with the TV permanently pulled out into the corner anyway!

Let me know if you need any more details.

Graham

Looks just what i needed. Unfortunately i have already bought my cantilever bracket otherwise your setup would be ideal. I also agree with what you say that the tv will probably always end up out... it never even gets turned off when we're not using it!
