Speaker spikes + underfloor heating ok?

I'm moving to a new flat soon with carpets and underfloor heating and I've ordered some Wharfedale 9.1 bookshelf speakers. Apparently you should use spikes for the speaker stands to improve the sound, but I'm afraid I'll damage the underfloor heating if I use them i.e the spikes will stab the wiring under the floor. Is this a valid concern? Is it possible for the spikes to stab through the carpet into the wiring?

Thanks for any advice.

An old trick is to use marble chopping boards to stand the speakers on.
As marble is a soft stone the spikes can get a grip and it also help deaden sound through the floor.
How good is the sound proofing to the flat below?

Thanks, that is a good idea, I was considering putting something under the spikes if everyone said it would damage the wires for the heating. Not sure about the sound in the flat yet as we are still in the process of moving. I did notice that the walls are some kind of hollow plaster or something? I assumed they were brick before we moved
