Thanks: Gave 0, Got 3 | Tannoy sfx stand help please
Hi,
Looking at getting the sfx 5.1 set-up but for the life of me I can't find out anywhere what size diameter (looks round in pics) the base of the stand is, not even on the Tannoy site.
Does anybody know what it is or perhaps one of you lovely helpful chaps who has a set might be able to measure them for me.
Also just out of interest are they only suitable for the Tannoy's or can you fit anything to them
Any help greatly appreciated
Thanks
Ryan

A bit of an aside, I know, but have you actually heard those speakers?
Please make sure you do, before you buy them
If you feel I'm out of order, feel free to ignore this post
But I'd suggest you forget about stands and just buy better speakers

No, just looking into what I can afford and fit at the moment, if you think these are no good can you suggest an alternative at a similar price point? I was also looking at the Jamo a102's as well

The truth is, I don't rate those either
Sorry mate, I'm trying to do you a favour
Have a look at the Mordaunt Short speakers at Richer Sounds, if you want value for money, imo,
Go 2.1

Go 2.1 | There is nothing wrong with the Tannoys, ive had a set for about 2 years and at £150 i dont think you'll find anything better. I have a small room so anything more is pointless but from the large amount of speaker sets in this price range that ive had the chance to hear, the tannoys are probably the best.. we cant all afford high end equipment or simply dont have the space to warrant a purchase.

My point was simply that at £150 you'd get better sound with a decent pair of stereo speakers, regardless of the size of the room. It seems you missed the comment I made about going 2.1. I probably should have clarified that I meant the likes of a pair of MS 902 and then add a sub later.
Re your comment on high end, I totally understand, but would say none of my gear is high end. Unless you call a £1000 sub high end (it's not in the scheme of things)
But then, my system has been built over a couple of years at least

To the OP, I have had a look and can't find anything myself. Sorry. Am also looking to get these stands.
I have a set of the SFX and they are fine, sound great. But I am no where near as experienced as other uses on here and by reading up I wish I had of maybe gone wth the Jamo, or at least gone out to listen to them first.
