32" LCD isolating plinth

Hi there, first post btw!

Quick question, I have a 32" LCD in the bedroom, it currently sits on my chest of drawers but I want to raise it very slightly (no more than six inches or so) with some sort of plinth. The reason for this is that I would like to put my DVD recorder in the bedroom, but have no space to accommodate it.

I wondered if there was some sort of stand so the DVD recorder can sit underneath it. If there isn't such a thing, I will see about getting a wooden frame kinda thing made up.

Thanks in advance guys.
