Pls help with AV Speakers layout

I'm upgrading from a 32" LCD to a 50"Plasma and I've started thinking about the much postponed upgrade of our (currently Audio only) hi-fi. It is perhaps time to join the AV revolution some 20years late.

Trouble is we have the 32" in front of the house, by the window where currently all A/V sockets are and it would seem as if that's the best position for the screen. I've done up the house 2 years ago with new floors and we did not think of running wires under the floors or in the walls.

Is there any solution for these settings? If the screen is by the window (we do have good curtains so it's fine) is there any way of putting in a 5.1 system? It seems to me the only way is either floating wires or drilling through the floor (something which I am sure will be frowned upon by the misses). I am sure I can fit all speakers but the two side satellites by the window but I need the wiring for the two side satellites next to the couch in front of the TV. bIf there is no solution I wonder whether I should bother at all and perhaps we should get a a couple of speakers next to the telly?

Any advice or even your own opinions are much appreciated.
