Stacking SoundStyle XS105 hifi racks

Hi

I currently have two Soundstyle XS105 racks and are having space problems. Does anyone know if they can be stacked two high and still be stable?

I can't even ask Soundstyle as they don't exist anymore

I was hoping you could get the equivalent of the top caps that acted like joiners.

Re: Stacking SoundStyle XS105 hifi racks

Hi

Soundstyle do still exist but they are only producing speakers stands under the brand name at the moment. Some of thier other furniture has been moved over to another brand so is still being produced.

Our factory produced the soundstyle XS series amongst other things and here's the answer to your question;

Strength-wise there's no problem doing what you're suggesting, all the weight is taken down the single corner legs. You may be able to remove the top bung in the leg and simply place the other stand's cones within the tube. There's not an easy way of permanently fixing this though, I would do it by drilling some holes in the top rear of the tubes on the bottom stand, tapping the holes and putting some locking screws in there to lock up against the cones of the top stand.

Whether it will be stable or not depends on whether you can make a secure fixing between the two and how much kit you put on it. I would recommend tethering the top one (or both) to the nearest wall just in case.

Hope this makes sense.
