Tv bed

HI guys i have been thinking about getting one of these rather than going for the fixed wall mounted option.

http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?im...icial%26sa%3DN

I can get it cheaper than advertised here from a outlet etc but would rather have a cabinet at the foot of the bed that my plasma rises from rather than buying the whole bed etc obviously dont want to pay thousands etc but certainly interested in any ideas that you may have ?

Re: Tv bed

Hi,

My own opinion is, don't bother it's not worth it. You still have to pay extra for the mattress and TV. For that sort of money you can buy yourself a top of the range king size bed and LCD TV.

Anway, it's up to you.

Good Luck

Re: Tv bed

Personally something like that EVisions lift is poorly engineered.

Lifting something like a 42" tv from a central point, without any bracing or support at the edges reduces its stability and makes it more likely to wobble.

True custom installers have access to a number of manufactures and solutions that can be built into your choice of cabinet.

Re: Tv bed

it's a very nice idea but i wouldnt want it as it's too dear and a waste of time, what if your tv breaks or the bed gets damaged, a lot of money to fork out then.

buy a bed and a tv seperate, most people do which is why u never see those custom bed/tv set ups, unless of course u are rich.

Re: Tv bed

Was tempted by a TV bed myself, they seem to have caught on quite a bit.
Would recommend checking around though as the prices vary alot.

Found on here for just over 2k.

Tv bed

And the same one here for nearly 3k

Expensive Tv Bed

not sure how there can be such a massive difference in price. .

Re: Tv bed

I have seen stanalone portable popup tv stands used for texas holdem poker comeptitions.
Not that nice exhibition syling exterior

Plenty of stanalone designs in the US
google found this one and loads more.

pop up tv stand, plasma lift, tv lift cabinets, console lift plasma tv, Flat Screen Stands, Pop Up TV Cabinets, lcd tv Lift, Hide Plasma Tv, Tv Lifts, Automated Cabinets, Pop Up Plasma

This place has some lift designs
TV Lift Mechanism - Factory Direct, Free Shipping

Also has a simple cantelever mount than can be used with just about anything
Floating TV Mount by ImportAdvantage tv-mount

been looking for something like this to mount my 42"
Most cantelever stands come with shelves which I dont want.

google tv lift mechanism, throws up loads of options/suppliers of just the lifts.

you can also get the bits(actuators, rails etc) to make your own design for the lift from places like this

Hi

We've just launched this product;

M-Form - 'ECLIPSE' TV lift for up to 32" TVs

It's a TV lift which is built into a framework to which you can apply cladding of your choice. Because the framework supports the lift mechanism your cabinet becomes non-structural and can be made from basically anything.

The framework includes a pre-assembled mechanism for a flip top lid so you don't end up with the unsightly flap and hole you get in most off-the-shelf lifts. The kit includes a drawing pack for a chippy to make you a cabinet accurately with the lid features included.

This one is for up to 32" and we have a 50" one coming.

Hope this helps.

Regards
Graham
