Ergotron Cast Alloy Wall Mounts? Anyone had much experience with them?

Just thought I'd ask... Did a quick search which didn't come up with much.

I was looking at one of these to mount a Panasonic TH50PZ81 onto red brick:

http://www.ergotron.com/Products/Wal...B/default.aspx

They look quite nice.

or as an alternative to the fancy cast job above, this:

https://www.avsupports.com/general/g...cket_1390.html

Apart from a small cost saving on the second wall mount can anyone think of any other advantages? Possibly it has a slightly wider footprint on the wall to spread to weight? Although they are both rated up to 79/80kg

Thoughts anyone?

Re: Ergotron Alloy Case Wall Mounts? Anyone had much experience with them?

Hi They both do the same job and work in a very simular way, you fix the backplate to the wall fix the 2 brackets to your TV and hang it in the wall its a very simple proven method.

Once the TV is on the wall you will not see the bracket anyway, as long as its black it will merge in to the black TV case when viewed from the side, but you will have to have your head against the wall to see it.

So go for the cheapest (I have tried to be as un-biased as possible)

If you go for our bracket don't forget to use the discount code 422.

Re: Ergotron Alloy Case Wall Mounts? Anyone had much experience with them?

I think you're right.. not much in it.

One question, you say as long as it's black it won't be seen which I agree with, on the description of the AVS-R005SVL it says "Silver durable finish." but the pics look black

Could you confirm if they are black?

Cheers!

http://www.ergotron.com/Products/Wal...B/default.aspx DOnt like the look of that as the back plate is low down on the screen, where all the cables connect so much higher risk of fouling the cables or crushing them on mounting

Re: Ergotron Alloy Case Wall Mounts? Anyone had much experience with them?

Hi PedwarSorry I made an error the brackets are in Silver the clearance from the wall is only 35mm so you should not be able to see much of the bracket.

Apologies for the confusion.
