Partition Walls - Maximum Screen Size?

I have a an interior stud partition wall, and would like to hang an LCD TV using a wall bracket. What would be the recommended maximum size I could safely go up to? I would like to hang between a 37 and 42 inch - but thinking this may be too much weight!?

There is a decent stand here im tempted with;

Locating the timber would help if I could put some screws directly in - but I doubt all screws could be sunk into the timber as it will depend on where they are placed / how far apart spaced.

There are some pretty strong dry line screws that can be bought, and either screw into the plasterboard, or open wings behind.

Any got any tips / experience / recommendations!?

Thanks

Re: Partition Walls - Maximum Screen Size?

i haven't tried this, but i have some experience with plasterboard from work and would strongly advise against trying to fix directly to the board itself, if you can find the studs then yes that would be fine, if not you could make some sort of frame (fixed to the studs) to support the wall bracket or have a look at the floating walls in the diy home cinema section they look very nice and hide all your cables as well

Re: Partition Walls - Maximum Screen Size?

I've got a piece of MDF (20mm thick) mounted to the stud joists and the wall bracket is then screwed into the MDF. My 50" screen hasn't fallen down yet.
