6-slot Wooden Stand

Hi all,

I'm looking for a TV stand/media unit made from wood that has 6 rectangular slots - 2 horizontal rows of 3.

Something like this but with 3 slots wide

I have a 46" TV to put on top so it needs to be fairly strong.

The reason I want 6 slots is I want to put a centre speaker (7.5kg) in the middle slot below the TV. I also need room for an amp (12.5kg), PS3 (5kg), BTVision box and Wii. The 6th slot will be for DVDs/remote/general storage.

It order to fit all these, I calculate that the minimum internal size of the slots will need to be 500mm x 180mm x 400mm (WxHxD)

Can anyone recommend a unit?

Thanks,

Benwolf

John Lewis do this stand, but I'm not sure on the aperture dimensions.

Yellowsphere - thanks, that's the right sort of unit however if it's 1450mm wide then the the slots can't be 500mm wide.

Including the thickness of the wood, I'd need something about 1600mm wide

Oh yeah, duh. There are stands by BDI and Blok that have a specific space for a centre speaker, but they're relatively expensive solid wood affairs.

Re: 6-slot Wooden Stand

I wasn't planning on spending £1500 .

My budget is about £300.

I think it would work if I had a one-slot full-width top shelf and a bottom shelf split in three although this may not be strong enough to hold the 30kg TV.
