Due to me buying a PVR, I no longer have any shelf space for my centre speaker. The TV stand has two shelves below the TV; one has the DVD/all-in-one hifi and the other will be housing the PVR. The only place to put the centre speaker is on top of the TV. The top of the TV is just large enough for the speaker to sit on it.
According to the hifi's manual, the speakers "are designed to be placed near to the TV" so I'm guessing they're magnetically shielded. There hasn't been any discolouration or interference on the TV caused by the speaker so I'm guessing it's ok to place it there.
Whilst the speaker is stable, it could easily be knocked off the TV if someone were to accidentally knock it. I was thinking maybe there were some pieces of plastic that could be stuck onto the TV to surround the speaker and stop it from falling down. Has anyone seen such a thing or is my idea utter rubbish?! I've always found the people on this site to be really helpful so any better suggestions would be very welcome
