Smile Custom AV Cabinet - Hold The Music

I recently had made and delivered (Somerset to Lancashire!) a custom AV cabinet by Mark at Hold The Music.

It's made out of maple and walnut. I will be honest it was not the cheapest but the level of service and finish are first class.

A few pics:

That looks gorgeous - I'm after one but first I need to move into my house and then I can think about furniture. This will be top of my list!

If you don't mind how much roughly were we talking about?

£1700.

Worth every penny though. You won't find something of similar quality for that price in any store.

Tankrs
It took a few months to make once I had committed to it.

I sent rough plans using google sketchup and Mark came back with much improved drawings with a number of options for involving a darker wood as well. The fee for that was £50 but it gets knocked off the final price of the cabinet if you go ahead.

He also sent me out samples of each of the woods.

Re: Custom AV Cabinet - Hold The Music

Hi Brett, could you post some more pictures please, I am interested in seeing the doors/drawers etc open, a picture of the back would be nice to but if it's too much hassle no problem. Is it actually 3 stands, 2 seperate end cabinets and a centre section, could you also post the dimensions please?

Cheers,
Oddbodd.

I'm thinking about ordering (need my annual bonus in June confirmed first) and would say that since this is built to order you can request your own dimensions to suit your kit. Perhaps BrettD will allow you to use his final drawings if you want the same design but with the dimensions tweaked - could save you £50 (less of course anything you "donate" to BrettD). Why not ask Mark at Hold The Music, with the level of customer services these guys are reputed to offer I'm sure he'd accommodate you.

Anyway, keep us all informed. Who knows, if they get enough business from forum members they might offer member discounts (although with the quality on offer they may not need to).
