Atacama Equinox Hifi Racks 6+ shelves

Did a search and saw this asked before but had had no replies.

Is anyone using an Atacama Equinox Hifi Rack with more then 5 shelves on (Base + 4 or more extra shelves)?

I have run out of shelves (or about to) and do not want to start "stacking" kit.

Thanks.

Ian.

Re: Atacama Equinox Hifi Racks 6+ shelves

I have a total of 5 shelves on mine. I believe that Atacama themselves do not advise using any more than a total of 4 shelves using a base plus two shelves. The Equinox racks are pretty robust so I can't see why 6 shelves shoulcn't be reasonably stable, it would be pretty tall though.

Thats what I was thinking too. They would err on the side of caution when quoting the max 5 shelves.

Thanks Crusty.

Re: Atacama Equinox Hifi Racks 6+ shelves

Guys, I want to buy one of these...do you think the bottom shelf will take my Denon AVC-A1SE at 35 kilos? :S

Re: Atacama Equinox Hifi Racks 6+ shelves

The equinox range has toughened glass and they are very robust and if your Denon fits I would imagine it'll happily take the weight.

I had a Musical Fidelity KW 550 amp and KW DAC/Transport in my old rack which I had on demo and it caused no problems what so ever.

Re: Atacama Equinox Hifi Racks 6+ shelves

I asked atacama about having a Arcal P7 at 31Kg on the bottom shelf and they said no probs as long as the rest of the rack isn't loaded too much.
