Closed AV Furniture

I'm after some help with identifying a cheaper alternative to a Spectral Closed AV TV Unit. Needs to be closed at the front with suitable ventilation at the rear for equipment and capable of accommodating 2 Arcam units side-by-side. Need total space for 4 pieces minimum and would also like to house a sound projector above. TV on top has a remote swivel stand so cannot be wall or rack mounted. Total width of unit cannot exceed 1100cm either as it needs to fit into an alcove.

To complicate things further, the boss in doors doesn't like wood. Spectral 1050 Closed would be perfect as I could add an attachable glass shelf for the sound projector, but I don't want to pay £1,800 (blown my budget on the rest of the home cinema). Willing to spend around £800 for a quality piece of AV furniture.

I know I don't want much ............... but can anyone help? Cannot find anything suitable that meets this spec anywhere.

get one made, Spectral are the best and are worth the money look at prices of similar furniture in john lewis etc that isnt designed for AV kit! you may get something made for £800 but most made is wood or MDF. MDF can be painted or made to look less like wood but that adds extra cost you could also look at http://www.apollohifi.co.uk/Cabinet/Cabinet.html Apollo are a manufacturer so may be able to make one to your size but i guess it will be similar price to the spectral.

Not that it makes any difference, just spotted I'm after a 11m wide AV unit - should have read 1100mm not 1100cm!

Custom made might be the only option, but as you said - will still cost a bit and I don't particularly want a flat-pack MDF unit. Can't believe that Spectral is the only manufacturer out there that supplies a unit which meets my spec. They must have some competitors that supply quality closed units?
