Help choosing a new stand or are there any other options.

Hello all I have recenntly bought myself a flat. So budget is very tight at the moment. I know that Alphason stand etc can be £200 - £300 and i simply can not afford that sort of cash.

Here is what I currently have: PS3, Wii, Cambridge Audio 540D, Cambridge Audio 540C, Cambridge Audio 640R, Panasonic dvd recorder, sky box, 26 inch Sharp LCD TV and 5.1 MS speakers.

My current stand was a bargain at approx £25 many years ago, I have all my stuff on this particular stand. The main issues I need a new stand is that my TV is too high on the current stand and it is also not very stable with all the equipment on it.

I would like a corner stand if possible, I did look at the Ikea Leksvik one which seemed to be ideal, however it will not fit in the corner of the room as there is a night storage heater there. It was about 10 cm too big. i may still get it and pull it away from the wall, that may be a option.

My other option is to use my coffee table for the TV which would mean it would be at eye level and then get longer HDMI, Scart leads etc to the current stand and have everything else on that .

So any ideas please help. My ideal option would be to get one made for me but like i said I have not got that sort of cash and I would rather spend £300 on a holiday. Please help me before i go insane.

Hi mate, have you looked at the Alphason ABR-1100? Not a corner stand but very attractive and functional. It can be had in black for around £150 off the net, don't know if this is in your price range?

I am about to order one in light oak (which unfortunately is more expensive!) but it will match the rest of the furniture.

It is the only good looking stand I have found, that allows at least 4 bits of equipment in, a possibility of putting a fifth in the centre section too; and has a cover at the front to stop dust / damage etc.

Hope this helps,

Cheers,
Matt
