Optimum not up to scratch

I have just had delivered a sparkly optimum rack in polished chrome. Started to put it together and noticed that every single rod had something wrong with it, from scratches to blemishes in the metal to poorly cut and rough ends on the plastics. Has this happened to anyone else or is it just my bad luck?

Really interested to know how this turned out. I am about to purchase the AV300, which model did you get?
