Which furniture options for my new flat? Black TV Stand & Oak furniture or all black?

I'll be moving into my new flat in about a weeks time. I'm trying to sort out what furniture to get for the living room.

I'm still unsure what to get. I really like the Lack TV stand from Ikea, but that comes in white, birch or black. I wanted to get a couple & modify them into a dual Lack as stevebb did here. From those 3 colours I would prefer the black one as I've just ordered a Samsung R87 40" LCD TV and the Samsung HT-TX35R Surround system and will be getting Sky HD (all black units so will match).

However I really like the look of oak/beech furniture like this oak coffee table.

My questions is has anyone else got a black (non-glass) TV stand and lighter coloured furniture in the rest of their living room & does it suit, or should I go for black coffee table/bookcase etc to match the TV stand.

By the way I'm renting my flat and it has magnolia walls & beige carpets and I will have a 3 seater & 2 seater chocolate brown leather sofas.

Cheers

All black is very boring in my opinion. I have the Ateca Bordeaux stand in Walnut because I have a lot of black furniture in my flat and I think it's nice that this breaks things up. Good luck with your choices!
