low tv bench needed..any ideas?

now ikea dont sell the oppli anymore, im struggling for ideas for a budget tv bench.
by the word bench i mean something low, (under 40cm high) and not too long (no longer than 145cm .)
Depth is no problem.
any ideas?
argos and ikea are my fave choices

How about this (available in different colour finishes)

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...nd%2Bunits.htm

I have something similar supporting a 42" plasma for the bedroom.

must admit..that is one basic looking stand!
i ended up modifying my existing stand..took a jigsaw to it and took the glass doors of it
now stands alot lower!

What you have done must have been much more satisfying than putting an argos flatpack together!!
Would be nice to see a pic of your setup.

Re: low tv bench needed..any ideas?

will grab a pic of before n after and post em up....

heres the before...

this was taken when i first had it around 2 years ago , hence no 360 inside it. Had it at the same time i got the TV.
i eventually covered up the glass on the inside with thin curtain material to hide what was inside.. also cut the legs of it

like this..

will take a pic of the chopped down stand once mrs battle.chasers has finished watchin tv downstairsand i have tidied it up a bit

Last edited by battle.chasers; 31-12-2007 at 8:46 AM. Reason: added pics
