In the same boat mate. Took 2 days only for delivery (very prompt) and very simple to build. Great product and you'll be shocked at how good the build quality is for the money. Cant wait to mount my 50" plasma on this. What a looker too.

Thanks! I am sure my centre speaker would hide it.

It's not that but the fact the rods run right from the bottom of the stand up through the LCD mount and the LCD bracket screws down onto them.

However, my thoughts were that you could use a stack of washers the same thickness as the glass shelf, which, like you say, would be hidden by the centre speaker

Re: Black glass Cantilever 60" stand

Got mine delivered in 2 days and it's up and built now.
Don't know how difficult it was to build as my Bro had it all done when I came home from work

Have to say I'm impressed by the build quality, the shelves are a lot sturdier than I thought and they have no problem holding all my equipment, and no bother to the small shelf to hold my 8 kg Centre

Hello mate, any chance you could post some photos with a 50" screen attached? I'd like to see some pics of a 50 incher, before buying.

Thanks,

Re: Black glass Cantilever 60" stand

mine arrived today and i got stuck into building it, but after a little while i realised the connecting piece (no 16) has only 3 threads instead of 4

ive been on the phone to em and they have promised me a new one tomorrow

the other thing i am gonna struggle with is my px600 isnt flat so the brackets wont fit, gonna have to find some that will

but cant fault the rest of it, looks superb and cant wait till its finished

Re: Black glass Cantilever 60" stand

I am just having some alterations carried out to the living room, having a door and radiator moved so that I can finally get my equipment where I want it. 1930's house that doesn't lend itself to my A/V hobby unfortunately and I am doing things on a bit of a budget.
I was going to wall mount my 40" Sammy but having spotted this thread have gone ahead and ordered one of these stands.
Should look quite nice in the middle of the much bigger wall that moving the door will give me.
I particularly like the idea of the small top shelf for the centre speaker.
Now do I respray my Silver Elac's or buy a nice set of Jamo's???:-(
Will take some piccies when it's all finished.
Rob

I hate the industry switch from silver to black It seems to have been brought on by LCD/Plasma screens alone. I'm happy with either (with a slight preference to black) but I wish one would just stick!

Have a look at mine and decide if you think all that silver (and NAD's own darker silver ) works OK. I think it's OK considering the AV stand has silver legs it works OK-ish.

I had all black gear originally (Marantz/Mission stuff) but the Missus hated it.
So I went over to Silver (Sony/TEAC)

We are now all Black again, apart from the 360 and my Sky+ box........and the Elacs

Re: Black glass Cantilever 60" stand

Just a quick question regarding this stand.

According to the website, the height of the stand is 41". What i would like to know is, is this measurement from the floor to the top end of the stand? Or from the floor to the centre mounting point?

Basically, my cousin has a 46" screen, and wants to know how his the tv will sit off the floor.

Thanks in advance.

Well I'm hoping my 40" Sammy will sit high enough from the top shelf to fit my Aego T centre in there without it obstructing anything.

Re: Black glass Cantilever 60" stand

Have you read my previous post about how the height of any screen can vary drastically? For the record mine sits around 67/68cm off the ground and sat a little lower before I had to make room for the new centre speaker but it doesn't mean your brother's will be able to/has to sit at anywhere near that height. I guess you'll only really fully understand what I mean when it arrives.

Re: Black glass Cantilever 60" stand

Emailed Allcam yesterday to ask whether these were still due in on the 20th March..
Got a very prompt and informative reply.
It just said "yes".....

Edit....it's been dispatched

Re: Black glass Cantilever 60" stand

heres mine,built,with a 46F86 hanging off it.

the top of the tv,is 132cms,from the ground, and plenty of space for my centre speaker.

i think with the way i put the tv on it,that its about as high as it will go,possibly i could get it about 1-2" higher,if i moved the bracket attached to the tv,to the upper most holes, but im happy with it just now.

it leaves enough room for my centre under the tv,and still i can see the blue light from the tv,over the centre speaker.

Re: Black glass Cantilever 60" stand

What is the height in CMs from the floor to the bottom of the screen based on a 42 or to the center mount point?

Thanks

Are you sure it's exactly the same stand?
Somebody posted a link to a similar stand on Amazon, which wasn't quite the same.
Apologies if it is

Re: Black glass Cantilever 60" stand

If you look at the description on Amazon it says "by Allcam"

"Availability: In stock. Dispatched from and sold by Allcam World of Portables."

Something tells me Amazon isn't showing up-to-date stock levels for Allcam.

They seem happy with it though, itchy chinny. Good luck.

Getting a bit cheesed off now.
I have tracked my order with Fastway Couriers, says it was picked up from Allcam on 19th March. I know we have had the Easter week-end to contend with but it's not moved.
Don't know when it's going to be delivered....:rolley es:

Mine turned up yesterday too, and yes........it has black glass.
Weighs a ton, the Missus nearly did her back in getting it out of the car

Re: Black glass Cantilever 60" stand

Will this do for a Philips 50pf7521, Vesa 800,400 compatible plasma screen?
Do floor stand still have to match vesa compatiblity to your screen or are the stands universal?
Thanks.

Re: Black glass Cantilever 60" stand

Some very positive comments here about this stand (once delivered and up and running!), which has tempted me into the possibility of purchasing one. Is there any easy way to check if the TV I have purchased (Panasonic 42PX80) will fit on the stand OK without the need to purchase a different plate or anything?
