I've got one of these guys. It's pretty decent quality and all went togeather very well. Incredibly heavy though, 54kg just for the stand. The glass doors are on magnetic spring mechanisms and all remotes work through them. The only thing I'd advise is putting some ventilation in the back of the unit (which I did prior to building).
My plan is to remove one of the drawers to put in my centre speaker, so I'll be making something with acoustic fabric to slide in and out.
As present the kit I've got in it is:
Top Left Shelf: DVD Player & HD DVD Player
Bottom Left: Sony Stereo (AV Amp is ging in here!)
Draws: Blu-Rays/HD-DVDs & Remotes
Top Right: Sky + Box
Bottom Right: PS3
Bits of kit that are anything more than 425mm wide need the glass door removing to fit in, thus far that's meant door off for DVD Player & HD-DVD player and the AV Amp too that I'm planning to get.
The two main pieces of wood running across the top and bottom are ~2" thick so should be able to take some weight without issue.
The reason I went for this one was that:
a.) it can fit one hell of a lot of kit in without stacking (bar DVD Players, didn't want to stak Sky+, PS3 or AV Amp!)
b.) The doors hide all the stuff behind them, nice and neat and away from prying eyes!
c.) Fairly kiddy proof
If you have any other queries feel free to ask !
PS - It's a two person kob to put togeather !
PPS - It's made by Germania who are perhaps not so surprisingly German!
