Question Can someone confirm this is for real?

Hi all,

Just purchased a 40" LCD and need a nice stand to go with it. Looked in Curry's and they had a lovely black stand (Serano SB1050) for £199.

All the genuine models online seem to be similar priced apart from when I visit the Dixons website. They have it for £80! Surely it can't be the same stand? Am I missing something?

Wow, glad I found this thread. Those Serano stands are an unbelievable price from Dixons. Not sure why they are so cheap. Looking at the other makes you can pay £200 for this sort of thing.

Re: Can someone confirm this is for real?

I've had this one delivered this morning so will be putting it together later http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/126267 Cant argue with the price, especially with free delivery, it weights a tonne.

Anyone tried tinting the glass of a TV stand with one of the kits you can get for car windows?

Re: Can someone confirm this is for real?

All those stands are superb value and I would get one in a second. Only problem is the middle shelf on the 3 shelf units is 170mm maximum on all of them, but my centre speaker is 180mm. So for the sake of 10mm I am buggered.

Rather loathed to get the Alphason A3-B stand for £300 (which gives a middle shelf of 184mm) when those from Ebuyer are £50 for what looks like a similar product.

Found one!

I know it's cheap but it's the only one I could find other than the £300 Alphason and I just can't stretch to that after my recent purchases.

Re: Can someone confirm this is for real?

What a fiasco this is turning out to be. Delivered the replacement yesterday. My parcel receiving person (i.e Dad ) opened the box, checked it was all in one piece and the carrier took the damaged one away.

When I got home, started to assemble it only to find the pack of rods which holds the whole thing together was missing. Annoying thing is that in the damaged one the carrier took away the rods were in that one.

Spoken to ASDA and they are sending a pack of rods today or tomorrow.

Very happy with ASDA Electricals service though. They answer the phone quickly and they actually call you back when they promise they will.

The problem causing all this is that TVStandsUK packaging is very very poor. For something so heavy, the box is held together with a few bits of tape and a two very light duty straps and there is just one thin bit of cardboard between the ground and the glass panels. They must get no end of damaged returns.

Re: Can someone confirm this is for real?

Well China is a long way away and as we all know, most things come from that part of the world at the moment.

Hope you get it sorted soon though mate.

Re: Can someone confirm this is for real?

These all look groovy, I need one that will support a 50" plasma and have enough room on the top shelf to put my centre speaker so it will need to measure at least 50cm deep, any help would be appreciated.
