Seating that will fit though a loft hatch

Hi,

I have a plasma and surround sound set up in my loft with DVD, consoles etc. and it's great. The only problem is seating. At the moment we have some chair shaped bean bag chairs which are ok but have started to loose their shape.

Does anyone know of any seats that I can fit up there. I'd like either individual chairs or a 3 seater (flat-pack)

The hatch is about 60cm x 120cm and I'd like the seating height to be about 40cm from the floor which would give the optimium viewing height.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Cheers

Have you thought about garden loungers, or those ikea wicker lounger things? They might not look too clever, but would be comfy for watching a film or two.

Re: Seating that will fit though a loft hatch

I got some leather recliners from ebay (see similar seat sin other thread here: Leather recliner + foot stool) and they come flat packed for home assembly, and they fitted through the loft hatch quite easily. When I recently moved, I only had to remove the back from the base and they came out quite easily too. My loft hatch was roughly 26 ins by 24ins so was smaller than yours in one dimension.

Thanks for all the ideas guys.

I especially like the leather chairs with foot stool. I'm gonna check out Ikea before I make a decision

Re: Seating that will fit though a loft hatch

I just noticed this post and my room pics might help as I had exactly the same problem.

My seats are from Ikea and are very comforatble. There is a matching footstool too and I think they also come in leather. In flat pack, they easily fit through the hatch

Have a look here;

Mike's attic cinema and games room

The pics will give you an idea how they look in situ.

Cheers

I've got tight access to my house so bought one of these. I think it might be even more flat pack than Ikea as it comes a a giant jigsaw. You'd never tell when it's all together and very comfortable.
