fitting my 50" sammy to a stud wall

Hi,

We've just moved home and my plasma needs to be mounted to a stud wall. This is somthing i've never done before as previously its been mounted to solid plaster/breze block/brick walls.

I just purchased a stud detector and had a little play getting it to beep on the wall studs however I am still afraid as to wether 2 studs are enough to secure the weight of my plasma.

I read that studs vary in width apart from 16 to 24 inches, but are they usually of sufficient strenghth to hang a 50" plasma to?

Does anyone have any tips?

agree... 2 studs is fine, but make sure you hit the centre of the stud, and use good fixings. When i did mine, i ended up cutting out a small bit of the wall, just to confirm the locations by eye, then plumb a line... simply filled the holes afterwards (made sure they were behind the screen anyway)
