Advice on painting an Ikea Bonde

I picked up a white Bonde TV stand cheap from the bargain corner at Ikea at the weekend as it was a bit scratched, has a couple of dents, and was missing the doors (which I don't want anyway).

I was thinking of painting it black, so am after some advice on what paints to use.

Re: Advice on painting an Ikea Bonde

It depends whether its real wood or not also which kind of finish you would like? shiny mat etc... there are some brilliant products outhere...varnishes etc that make good looking pro job at a fraction of the cost. Go to a good paint store and take as much detail with you about the furniture and they would be able to advise you, if you can take a piece of item from it with you, it will be better still, lke a door etc.
Hope this helps.
