AV cabinet to accommodate a piller?

Hi

I'm hoping to use the knowledge of the 'people' here

Can anyone advise on an AV cabinet or somewhere I might find one that has the middle removed and in a sort of U shape?
The wall the AV cab will reside has a piller that I want to 'build' in to the cab.

I'm hoping there are options out there and not have to spend a fortune - or last resort build the bugger myself

Your help is greatly appreciated !

Re: AV cabinet to accommodate a piller?

....the piller is square, so it's a symetrical 'hole' i want cut out of a normal cab but don't want to lose too much structural integrity....

Thanks

Re: AV cabinet to accommodate a piller?

Can't imagine anyone builds anything like this off the shelf, probably the best bet is to buy a cabinet and modify it. If you go down the custom build route it will probably be fairly expensive but you'll end up with something that has more usable space than a 'cut n' shut' job.
Having said that, if your handy with wood or MDF then it wouldn't be hard to modify any rack and keep (or more likely) improve the rigidity.
