Don't know about melamine but you can get veneered MDF, Chipboard, plywood etc from http://www.edens.co.uk
Alternatively if you have a local kitchen worktop company you'll probably find they can supply you with what you need.

Re: Strange request melamine sheeting

I assume by 'melamine sheeting' you mean melamine faced chipboard (MFC)?

If so, it's stocked in most DIY sheds, but you won't find it in that exact size - mainly due to the fact that at 2000x80mm it would be too weak to transport, and would probably snap when you tried to move it!

You should be able to find it stocked in various finishes (white, cream, various woodgrain effects) in the shelving section. The nearest stock size would probably be 2400x150mm. You'd obviously have to cut it down when you got it home.

Alternatively, go to the kitchens section & buy a length of plinth & cut that down.

Re: Strange request melamine sheeting

You can buy large sheets (12`x 6`) there is a few places in the North-East that sell them. You need to find a company that makes kitchen cabinets not just supply them.

Re: Strange request melamine sheeting

You won't need the 12'x6' sheets - the most common size is 8'x4' (2440x1220mm) which is big enough for your requirement.

I doubt you'll find an online retailer that will deliver these, especially if you only want one. Your best bet is to ring your local timber merchants - they will sell you one sheet, and deliver it to you, but you'll have to pay for the delivery. If you don't have the facilities to cut it down to the size you want, many will cut it to size for you before delivery - again, at additional cost.

You won't find it wider than 600mm in the DIY sheds or similar, because no-one usually wants shelves deeper than that, and that's what it's sold for.

What finish/colour are you wanting?

Re: Strange request melamine sheeting

Try a local Keyline or Travis Perkins? I work at Keyline and we used to keep a massive range of sizes.

We eventually stopped stocking it as more got broken than sold, you only have to look at it in anger and the stuff chips off.
