Mega AV stand required!

I intend to house the following units in an AV stand:
AV Receiver
Sky HD Box
DVD/Video player
Blueray Player
HDDVD player
CD player
Sony PS3
Xbox 360
Nintendo Wii

At this rate, I need at least an AV stand that can take 10 AV units.
Any suggestions? Prefer a 4-5 rack stand, that I can put each unit side by side.

Thanks.

http://www.progressive-av.com/furnit...300_series.htm You could possibly put the Ps3 360 and Wii upright next to each other in the centre speaker place? also i have been told by Liam at Progressive that these are about to be discontinued.

prefer an open glass unit, where you can see all the units.

Re: Mega AV stand required!

i've got an apollo mezzo soprano rack. its glass with a processor, power amp, vcr, dvdr, dvd player, ntl box and an xbox 360 on it. its areally nicce design (imo) and modular so u can add to it. the only downside with glass racks is how to hide the cables at the back - anyone got any bright ideas cos its looks a mess as much as i try =

Re: Mega AV stand required!

Something like this might do the trick from Spectral Furniture.

http://www.spectral-moebel.de/

Alternatively the Stands Unique Ultimate AV Rack would work well too.

Re: Mega AV stand required!

I use a sideboard and two tall cabinets to house all my av gear (about 40 units - amp, several Tivos, xboxes, wii, ps3, dat, skyhd boxes,hd dvd, media centre etc.).

I guess you could have them custom made from Jali.co.uk or your local cabinet maker.

Pemberto: where did you get your cabinet made?

Re: Mega AV stand required!

I had the cabinet custom made to my own design, by a local cabinet maker, http://www.harmanandsons.com. They are located in Horsham, West Sussex. Its about 20mins west of Gatwick airport.

It was delivered in five sections and put together onsite. All the doors are solid oak and the rest is oak vaneer.

I have only made a couple of changes to the design, none of which are visible. They all concern cable management and power management.

Instead of running multiple power sockets in the wall or multiple extension blocks I used an 11ft MK Electric dado trunking system which contains 11 double unswitch sockets and 8 cat5e sockets. This is then connected on a dedicated switched mains.

Take a look at my cabinet that I had custome made.

Re: Mega AV stand required!

Lawrenso,
The unit cost me £1100.00 which I still think is great value for money. When I first started looking for a custom unit I was getting quotes from £6500 to £3000.

OK, the carcass is MDF and all the face surfaces are MDF Oak, but the doors are solid oak and they were a real pain to make.

At the end of the day I have a cabinet that I designed, that takes all of my equipment and still gives me a little room for futures.

If you want any more info, just let me know.
Pemberto
