Using Plasma Wall Mount with LCD is this Possible?

Does anyone know if it's possible to use an original Panasonic wall mount with a Sony LCD TV?

My friend currently has a 37" Panasonic PE30 with original wall mount and is thinking of changing it to a 40" Sony Bravia. Will this work??
