Oppli height question....

So, like many on here, the Ikea Oppli will be my choice for a TV/AV gear stand since it has space for my centre speaker along with AV amp, DVD player, Freeview box, and if I can be bothered, a VCR

But, is the 40mm height too low?

I had thought of the DuOppli as some have done, but a) I can't afford it really, and b) I actually think that'd be too high....

My TV is a Tosh Picture Frame 36" CRT, and it stands exactly 60cm tall. So coupled with the Oppli's 40mm height, thats 1m to top of TV from floor, meaning the centre of the (visible) screen at about 75cm from floor....

Is this too low?

Re: Oppli height question....

Hi, Ive got a Sagem 50" on an Oppli and the centre of the screen is approx 90cm
and for me that is perfect. As your screen is smaller I think maybe 75cm is just a bit too low. A lot of people on here have their LCDs on DuoOpplis so theyre higher but i guess as their LCDs are generally smaller than 50" the overall height probably evens out. You might be the first to make a 1 1/2 Oppli (just kidding) Just had a quick measure and I reckon you might need something about 55cm high. Hope this helps(and makes sense) Baz

Funny you mention the 1 1/2 Oppli - I have been tinkering with that idea now for a couple months!

I even did a mock up of it using someone elses pic from an Oppli thread;

But that still means buying two Oppli's, for which I can't really justify the cost for! I might do it if I can pick a cheap one up on ebay for cheap (missed one a wile back that was like 5 miles away for £25!)
