"Floating" plasma stands?

Hey guys, what are my options in terms of "Floating" plasma stands that are available...

I believe this to mean units which have a pole coming out the top onto which the plasma is mounted.

I was originally going to mount the tv on the wall, but have changed my mind due to the fact the wall is plasterboard (with the horizontal studs too high for eye level), and the hdmi cable is going to have to be 10m if I want my av stuff to be out of the way (it.s pointless mounting a tv, and then wasting the floor space beneath it with a cabinet for storing a DVD player....)

Anyone know any good suggestions for TV units?

Re: "Floating" plasma stands?

Hi,
I had a similar search, and couldn't find anything I liked (all too high or too wide) so I ended up making my own. See thread here.

Mode-Al have some nice but expensive aluminium & glass stands, see here. I think they're made to order, but they are a helpful bunch.

Hope this helps,
Si
