This looks ideal for what I'm after...

...but I dread to think how much it would cost!!

Glass doors may have been a better option but it looks like you can order it with IR extenders built in!!

Am currently after a cabinet style unit and this looks pretty nice. Have asked about pricing but last cabinet company I asked wanted £1500 as a starting point for something like this !

Looks very similar to the one I was looking at from Next, have the feeling this will cost a fair bit more. I actually quite like the look of this one though.

I'd want a bit more than wood veneer for that money....

Saw something very similar, & reasonably priced, when I wandered into a local Harveys furniture store; various sizes, fronts & wood finishes. Couldn't see them on their website so I assume a new product. Definitely worth looking at though (esp. if you've got a biggish centre speaker that needs housing).

I was looking around for something a bit different and found these people, I've not seen any of their stuff but maybe worth a look.

Re: This looks ideal for what I'm after...

The unit Mr Big mentioned is I believe from Harveys new range of multi-media "flexible living" range. They quite proudly boast in their advertising that they have over 125 multimedia units in 5 wood veneers in a size to suit your home. Sound great!!
I had been looking for ages so shot in there as soon as poss and decided on a low 49mm high x 2100 wide four cupboard (middle two doors in glass) style unit. The few units they had on show looked good quality, one or two units in each of the veneer finishes, not the best I had seen but for the quoted price of £499.00 I thought a good buy. At last something me and the wife agreed on!! The finish was going to be Beech or Cherry.
Everythig was great until I tried to order. I had to endure endless attempts by what seemed to be untrained staff to order the right unit, at one point I nearly ordered a six foot high display case!
At last we had the unit on screen and we decided on Cherry. The delivery was £47.50, a bit steep but what can you do.
" So thats £696.50 to pay. I'll just debit your card...." said smiling harveys employee.
"No thats not right, I make it £546.50" said I.
"Oh no" says sales chap "It's an extra £150.00 to have it in Cherry"
A MASSIVE £150.00 to have a different veneer. I couldn't believe it. He then went on to say to have Walnut veneer was £200.00 pounds more.
Am I missing somethig here, we are talking veneer here .
After hearing no reason for this price jump apart price structure I had to walk out absolutely disgusted.
By all means go and have a look, they do a lot of sizes, but the extra price increase has put a bad taste in my mouth. Not once was this mentioned and I was in there long enough. Ikea, Next or MFI don't do it. It's a complette rip off. BE WARNED

Re: This looks ideal for what I'm after...

Ouch that is annoying...

I've also heard that Harveys are fairly slow in sending out furniture..
I agree that they do have some exceptional units on display at competitive prices too.
Its not that unusual for a cherry veneer to be priced higher than say beech or birch. You only have to look at the Acoustic Energy Aelite range which are advertised at 995 quid for a 5*rated setup.. its only when you order cherry that they jack up the price to 1300!!!! Again, i agree its only veneer..
