Strata range at John Lewis

Does anyone have any experience of the strata range at John Lewis?

http://www.johnlewis.com/Furniture/L...3/Product.aspx

Haven't been able to get to a John Lewis yet to have a look - any thoughts on build quality, size etc?

Thanks

Dolph.

Ikea Enon is very similar to this, but a lot less expensive. Check it out online

I work at John Lewis Audio TV - it looks to be a really nice unit but I would question the safety of attaching a 42" LCD or plasma so it hangs on the unit - they are heavy things and some walls are not strong enough to take it, let alone wood.

Re: Strata range at John Lewis

Thats very helpful thanks - despite it's apparant usefullness in that respect I'd actually be using it for an LCD on a stand....

Re: Strata range at John Lewis

Hi Dolph, I have been looking at this unit also - they have this exact unit on display at JL in Kingston Surrey. I was considering it so I could fit my centre speaker AV amp and DVD player on the bottom shelf however after taking some measurements (which are at home at the mo) I realised that there is a wooden lip all around the top of the shelf that limits the height of devices you could fit on the shelf. So much so that my AV AMP and centre speaker will not fit

It seems so hard to reasonable quality AV furniture that caters for a decent Centre speaker. You seem to have either the IKEA options or super expensive custom made kit

Having said all this I am still considering this unit, as If the wooden lip that runs all round the shelf could be temporarily removed from one of the sides I could slide my AV equipment along the shelf
