Wall fitting sizes for 32" and 42" LCD/Plasmas?

Can anyone tell me if the four fitting threads on the back of LCD/Plasma TV are the same distance apart on a 32" tv and a 42" tv? I have a 32" LCD that is VESA 200 I think. That means that they four fitting threads are all 20cm apart. Are they further apart on 42" screens?

Thanks

Carl

42" panels do not use VESA mountings - each manufacturer has its own bespoke fixing points.

I doubt you could safely fix a 42" plasma to an existing VESA 200 bracket.

Hi,

I don't have a vesa 200 wall bracket. I have two rails that were put up by a friend who is a joiner. I think it would hold a 42" screens weight. I'm just wondering how far apart the wall bracket fittings are on a 42" tv. The ones on a 32" tv are 20cm by 20cm square.

I would appreciate someone telling me.

Cheers

Carl

Hi

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

It doesn't really matter where the fixings are on the display.

The back plate on a plasma bracket usually has dozens of holes - many of which will probably line up with at least one of your wooden battens.

You can then drill the bracket if necessary so that you can get fixings into your second batten.

Most plasma wall plates are pretty large - mine measures 55cm wide by 40cm high and the predrilled holes are along the top and bottom edges (approx 35cm apart vertically).

Regards,

Steve
