Speaker/Stand combo, please advise...

Hello all,
I am on the verge of buying separates speakers for the first time (so please excuse the relative ignorance of the question) and hence also a set of Standmounts.

The speakers will be Quad 11L, and the stands I want are Optimum 60S, but here's the problem...

The depth of the Top Plate of these stands is only 15cm, while the depth of the Quads in nearly 25cm.... is it OK/safe to have such a combination, or will I need to look at a deeper standmount??

I emailed Customer Service of the Eshop I intend to buy them from, and got a reply saying that by using blue tack it would be fine, do you agree?

Many thanks in advance for any help.

Ideally you would want them to be of a very similar or the same size, but if you use blue tak they should be fine. I had my 805S on Neat Petite stands for a while, the base was much smallre than my 805S, and using blue tak they were fine. The blue tak does set pretty solid after a few days.
